Section 7 Assessments

A clear focus on the child’s welfare.

The work

NYT considers the scope of the proposed Section 7 work and the relevant experience required before identifying a suitable Social Worker. The assessment responds to the issues set out in the instruction, with a focus on the child’s welfare.

Independent Section 7 work by appropriately experienced Social Workers, with clear analysis of the child’s welfare and evidence-based recommendations.

Before work begins

The proposed scope, relevant directions, reporting requirements and timescales are discussed before an instruction is confirmed.

Availability and timescales depend on the instruction. Please contact NYT to discuss the proposed work, location and any deadline, without sending identifying case details through the general enquiry form.

An appropriate professional

NYT considers qualifications, relevant experience, demonstrated competencies and Social Work England registration when identifying a suitable professional. The match also takes account of risks, complexity, location and availability.
